I would suggest that you don’t spend any real money on boxing equipment, until you know you are going to take pleasure in it.

Heavy bags, and reflex bags, can be rather expensive, and it’s a better selection to keep it simple to start with.

Get yourself over to a local boxing gym, for the sake of £1 or maybe a small bit more, you will be able to train with people your own age. Question the trainer all the questions you want, and clarify to him the situation you are in.

He will help you. Before going along to the gym, ensure you have a mouthpiece, and hand wraps (question staff in shop for sizes), everything else you need should be supplied for you (Even gloves!).

After you have done this for a few month, I would suggest you then buy a heavy bag or reflex bag, but at that time you will know which item you prefer to use, due to the gym experience.

It’s better to spend a small amount, and learn a lot. Then cut yourself off from genteel training, and spent loads, to learn nothing.

People who train themselves, 9/10 train themselves incorrect. Go get some experience with guys who know what they are talking about.

    Excellent Luck, Joe
